In 1996, the Five Senses Garden was created as part of the Capital Area Greenbelt in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and is open year round to the public. It is located just past the Harrisburg East Mall off of Mall Road. The Garden is structured so visitors can experience the nature through each of their five senses: sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. The garden is maintained by volunteers and it needs help from the local community so that it can continue to thrive and be enjoyed by the public.
The Harrisburg Keystone Rotary Club will be volunteering at the garden on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Members of the club will be weeding, mulching, edging planting and doing a variety of other activities to spruce up the garden beds so that the public as whole can enjoy their beauty. The Harrisburg Keystone Club welcomes other Rotary Clubs and members of the community to come out and participate at this event. This will be a great
opportunity to get outside and some much needed fresh air while at the same
time helping to make our local community a brighter prettier place
alongside friends!!
