Tomorrow is our Annual Rotary Awareness Guest Night! Stop by Appalachian Brewing Company tomorrow at 5:30pm in the Gallery lounge and learn what we're all about.
Our regular meeting on January 24 will feature the YWCA of Harrisburg, as we learn about abuse prevention and the services they offer to women and children in crisis. Come learn about the help our neighbors need. Check out http://www.ywcahbg.org/ to learn more and join us on the 24th at 5:30!
_The Joshua Group is an at-risk youth mentoring organization located and working with youth living primarily in the Allison Hill neighborhood of the City of Harrisburg — a neighborhood with the highest poverty rates, highest unemployment rates, highest violent crime rates and highest drop-out rates in the city. Our club collected school supplies for use in their after-school mentoring program. A whole car load made it there today!
“What is Rotary?” “What happens at a Rotary meeting?” “Who’s actually involved with Rotary, what do they do, and is it for me?” “And what’s with that Wagon Wheel?”
Come find out in a fun, business mixer-type format, with one of Harrisburg’s newest, vibrant, youngest (and dare we say, “Rocking-est”) Rotary clubs! Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available, with networking and a brief presentation. “Doing good in the world,” and “Service above Self” are two phrases that describe the 1.2 million Rotarians around the world in more than 34,000 clubs in over 200 countries. The Harrisburg Keystone Rotary Club is committed to making the world a better place in our immediate neighborhood, including Allison Hill, as well as internationally. |
