Good morning everyone!
At last night's Rotary meeting we passed around 2 sign up sheets for up coming service events. Five Senses Garden Saturday May 19 from 9-12: Success! Look here at the happy workers! This event will involve weeding, planting, edging, mulching and other garden activities. The Five Senses Garden is part of the Capital Area Green Belt and is a garden for the community. They need lots of people with the up keep. If you are interested in coming please email me back so I can add you to the sign up sheet. If you can only come part of the time that is okay too! Feel free to invite family and friends. In 1996 the Five Senses Garden was created as part of the Capital Area Greenbelt in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and is open year round to the public. It is located just past the Harrisburg East Mall off of Mall Road. The Garden is structured so visitors can experience the nature through each of their five senses: sight, sound, touch, taste and smell. The garden is maintained by volunteers and it needs help from the local community so that it can continue to thrive and be enjoyed by the public. The Harrisburg Keystone Rotary Club will be volunteering at the garden on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Members of the club will be weeding, mulching, edging planting and doing a variety of other activities to spruce up the garden beds so that the public as whole can enjoy their beauty. The Harrisburg Keystone Club welcomes other Rotary Clubs and members of the community to come out and participate at this event. This will be a great opportunity to get outside and some much needed fresh air while at the same time helping to make our local community a brighter prettier place alongside friends!! For more information about the Five Sense Gardensplease visit the website: http://caga.org/five_senses_gardens. Nativity School Day at Gifford Pinchot State Park 4-7 PM Tuesday, June 12th. This event will takes place instead of our club meeting that night. We will all meet at the park. The Nativity School will be busing over their students who are 6th -7th grade age boys. Attached is a list of activities we are planning for the students. If there is a particular activity you would like to help with please email me so I can put your name down next to it. If you are not sure which event but know you want to come to the event also email me to let me know. Again, feel free to invite family and friends! Also, I want to remind everyone that if you participate in a Service Project that counts as a meeting make up for your attendance record!! Hope everyone has a great rest of the week! Alicia

Yesterday, Duane Shearer from Danzante illuminated the club regarding his work building hope and resiliency within the hearts of children in Harrisburg. There is great work going on at Danzante, and Duane is always looking for help to continue and build on the foundation already in place.
Look here for opportunities to volunteer and held Danzante with their mission. The Hummelstown Rotary Club is hosting a fundraiser night at the Isaac’s in Hummelstown on March 29 from 5 to 9 p.m. If you plan on eating out that week, why not stop by Isaac’s to help Hummelstown Borough raise funds for their 250th anniversary celebration? They would greatly appreciate your support!
The Service Committee is working with the Nativity School for a day or afternoon at Pinchot State Park with the kids from the Nativity School. It will be a fun afternoon for them and for us and an opportunity for city kids to experience the woods and park.
Mark your calendar for June 12 today and set time aside for Service! Come one, come all, and answer the call, to serve one another and dance in the hall!
